The nature, the Caribbean Sea and the beach are inimitable! This is a wonderful corner of the world.

The beach and the sea are wonderful!

What was the highlight of Catalonia Royal La Romana Hotel

The people made it great! Needs a bit of TLC.

Entertainment staff were very engaging. Overall, the staff were very friendly and efficient. Good variety of restaurants that were all bookable. The variety of the breakfast was good (great mimosas at Bloved). Swim up bar. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. Good variety of entertainment (although it took some time to get going some nights). We could always find a sun lounger. Dance classes were intense but enjoyable. Quite pool areas to relax. We needed to check out late so the hotel booked us in to their shower room.

Mould on the bathroom ceiling. Smell of damp in our room. No sun on our balcony at any time of day. The rooms and hallways needed some painting. The beach is quite a walk from the hotel (5-10 mins). Air con was very feisty, we had to turn it off and put it into heat when it was 28C. No ice cream sold in any of the restaurants. Quality of the restaurants varied a lot - Siwichi was great, worst was the Asian (Tao-Cat). Tao-Cat served like warm food that was supposed to be hot and sushi that was not fresh. The staff were wonderful but bored as they didn’t have many customers so they were messing around. We were not given beach towels in our room when we checked in and when we got them they were taken by the cleaners and not replaced. Photos of the jacuzzi area on the website are out of date, there is a new, large, square jacuzzi that looks great but doesn’t work.

Wonderful

Wonderful experience if you want to relax. The staff were very friendly all the time. Excellent coffee and that comes from a puertorrican that is very demanding with his coffee. The restaurants were magnificent, specially, Belove.

The food from the sister hotel is very low quality in comparison with the Catalonia Royal. The only good food was the Toscana (very good)

Perfect Relaxing Getaway

The property is super clean, friendly, and eco conscious. All the restaurants were well kept and the public bathrooms too. There were plenty of daybeds by the pool and beach. It’s in a less touristy area so it’s a lot more laidback. It we cool being able to use the family side of the resort. I felt very safe and the staff was great!

It was hard to order room service. I didn’t like the sushi at the sushi bar but I’m picky about my sushi. The pools close too early.

Wonderful

Amazing resort, room big and super clean. The beach is one of the best of my life (no seaweed). You can always find place at the beach, but it is better not to arrive too late. This hotel and Bayahibe in general are absolutely recommended.

Food at the buffet was ok (some evening better than others), but some of the a al carte restaurant were not good at all, like the asian. Staff very kind at the reception, waiters and bartenders not so friendly. Overall a great experience.

The staff, the food, drinks, the atmosphere, beach was ok, enough sunbed and clean towels provided everyday, the bed was also comfy

The hotel made positive and lasting memories for us.

Friendly and accommodating staff. Clean and safe location. Good food and amenities. Fun and talented entertainers every night. Located on a beautiful beach. We felt like family by the end of our stay. We are already booking for a return trip.

Great service, the food was excellent and the facilities were impecable. Excellent activities, all was very clean , the staff was very happy to help with everything even out of the ordinary petitions

Some of the staff used to have personal conversations while the guests were there, it was a little uncomfortable. Not that big a deal, not so noticeable specially by non spanish speaking guests, but it was a bit annoying for those of us who understand

The hotel was perfect for me. The room, the beach and the water turquise, the food, especially the breakfast and the restaurants. The Food is much better than in other hotels and there is a huge variaty, even sushi. The music and the shows and the animation are really good and much better compared with other hotels. Moreno Feo is an excellent animateur, he made my vacations excellent. He is always 100 percent present, always in perfect mood, cheerful and fun. El mejor es Moreno Feo. The therapy sea bar is excellent. Beautiful. They have good drinks and the bartenders are adorable especially Lee, Ariel, Anyelo, Berenice, Daniel, Jose Luis and Luis. The fruit bar offers smothies with 100 percent natural juice! I loved every day there and I will come back! Muchas Gracias!

Heaven on earth to relax and recharge!

This is an amazing place to relax and enjoy the beautiful coast of DR! Spacious but doesn’t feel like Dominicana at all. Love the choice of places by the hotel itself and the beach!

The exclusive part … 90%was empty so something isn’t working with the idea. Also, some sea food restaurants have no capacity and get fully booked out so you have to plan your stay. Also, way too far to local Bayahibe village …
